Patient Testimonials

"My 15 year old Grand Prix horse fell and flipped over completely, bending his neck in half. Cathy's early treatment of his neck resulted in remarkable preservation of his complete neck mobility."

Dr. J.W., Vacaville, CA

"My original opinion of horse Physical Therapy was that it is a lot of voodoo, until I watched the dramatic difference in my horse under Cathy's hands."

K.F., Dixon, CA

"My 18 year-old Prix St Georges gelding had neck/shoulder mobility problems and a very sore spot near his spine. After Cathy's treatment, his neck and shoulder mobility was dramatically better, and the sore spot in his back disappeared completely.

Dr. J.W., Vacaville, CA

"I spent a year and a half searching or solutions for my low back pain.  I went through ten months of standard physical therapy, three sets of epidural steroid injections orthopedic massage, and the list goes on.  My doctor's final suggestion was surgery, which wasn't a reasonable solution for me.  When I went to Cathy, she looked at the whole picture - how my body moved, my gait, my muscle patterns, and bone alignment, my strengths and weaknesses and discovered  issues that no one else had addressed.  Cathy was the first person to really provide me with relief.
Thank you

Susan R., Danville, CA

"My horse and I had a terrible fall and now we are both up and running thanks to Cathy!"

"Noah, the mechanical horse at Meridian PT, has been a great resource for our daughter, who is almost 4 years old and has sensory integration issues.  Our daughter's Occupational Therapist recommended Meridian Physical Therapy's Assisted Riding Program, because it would provide a means to strengthen our daughter's core muscles, and improve her balance as well as her body awareness.  Unfortunately, our daughter is frightened by the horses.  Noah, however, provides all the muscle strengthening and coordination benefits of the horseback riding without causing her any fear.  Initially, she was a bit timid even around Noah, but now it is difficult to get her off the horse at the end of her session.  Cathy and Henriette make sure that her time on Noah is full of creative, imaginative play, so she has a great time while she's getting needed physical therapy from caring, knowledgeable therapists!"

Heidi Smith, Davis, CA.

I was disabled by a traumatic brain injury as a young adult.  As a result, I am partially paralyzed on my left side and I have difficulty with balance and coordination.  Falls and injuries were becoming more frequent.  Hippotherapy has greatly improved my balance and coordination.  I am now able to walk and work with more confidence and fewer falls.  An added benefit from hippotherapy is the reduction of spasticity (tight muscles) in my paralyzed side.  Cathy uses her skills and knowledge as a Physical Therapist to release and stretch the muscles on that side: the motion of the horse travels up into my back, shoulders and neck.  As a result, I now have much less tightness and less pain in that side.  Thank you Cathy, Joey and all the staff at the ARK!
